The Ministry of information and culture said that At least 5000 Archaeological sites are present in the country.
The ceremony was attended by the Acting Minister of Information and culture Dr.Kamal Sadat, Director of the National Museum, Director of the Archaeology Institution Abdul-KadirTemori and majority of cultural institution, Domestic and foreign media reporters, topresent his ten year achievement of the Archaeology institution.
According to the Director of the Archaeology institution Abdul-KadirTemori, we started to identify the Historical sites in collaboration with the cultural organization and it will continue for five years. I am sure that our activities will increase once the final Map is ready.
He further said that these Archaeological sites are in the control of Government and some areas are in the control of armedgroups. He figures out that 5260 historical artifacts were identified in different provinces in the past 10 years.
Meanwhile Acting Minister of information and culture Dr.kamalsadat urged the people to return antiquities and relics smuggled out of the country during the civil war.
Dr.Sadat adds that we also urge from foreigner to bring back the Afghan Historical artifacts according to international law which were smuggled during civil war.
After press release, the questions was raised from the Journalists side about the problem faced by the National Museum from the Director of Nation Museum, according to Muhammad Fahimi Rahimi we want to build a new building because lack of space is a big problem. According to the staff of the National Museum that 65 to 70 thousands artifacts were preserved in the National Museum before civil war now it is 30 thousands.
Meanwhile a number of visitors at the National Museum in Kabul urged government to ensure the safety of historical sites and relics around the country.
